Amoxicillin (and other penicillin antibiotics) have been cleared of their anti-Birth Control effects. As it turns out, the research that made the claims are 20 years old, and flawed.

I lost a couple of the links, but the gist of it is: studies have shown that only a few specialized antibiotics effect the amount of BC in the bloodstream.

With that said, always use a second form of birth control, as diarrhea is a common side effect of Antibiotics and that CAN effect the pill. Plus, better safe then pregnant.

According to this paper that I found (after searching for ages!), using analgesics, antibiotics, anti-inflammatories and anti-depressants have no statistically signficant correlation with IUD failure.

So no, using antibiotics shouldn't cause the IUD to lose its effectiveness.
Antibiotics can decrease the effectiveness of birth control. Talk with your doctor before they prescribes you any medicine to see how it will react with your birth control.
No, that is only with the pill. You are fine.

If you have an IUD does sperm stay in your body?

An IUD doesn't affect how long semen (or sperm) stays in the uterus. The copper IUD interferes with sperm mobility, lowering the odds of pregnancy. The progesterone IUD thickens the cervical mucus, making it difficult for the sperm to meet the egg.
