One answer doesn't fit all. I am allergic to aspirin and NSAIDS, but my doctor said that mobic might work for me since it is a COX 2 inhibitor. Don't know what that means, but it cures my (rare) headaches. I am not allergic to Tylenol either, but Tylenol doesn't help with headaches.

Yes you can. Meloxicam does not affect CNS so it will not potentiate your xanax. Also they affect the body via very different mechanisms so it's ok to take them together.

Generally yes.A small portion of asthmatics are "aspirin sensitive" which means aspirin will make them wheeze. Some of them, but not all, will also wheeze with NSAIDs such as Motrin (aka Advil and ibuprofen) and Aleve (naproxen). These medications inhibit both versions of the enzyme cyclo-oxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2).It turns out that aspirin sensitivity is a COX-1 effect and so COX-2 selective agents, such as Celebrex, can generally be tolerated. Meloxicam is an NSAID that is more COX-2 selective than Motrin but a little less so than Celebrex.So most asthmatics can take any of this type of medication. Most that do wheeze then taking aspirin or Motrin will be able to take meloxicam and almost all can take Celebrex.
