Yes, You can take these drugs together but do not drink alcohol and do not drive. I am Prescribed 1mg of Ativan (lorazepam) 3 times daily and I have migraine headaches so sometimes I have to take these two drugs at the same time. Best to stay at home on these nights and chill out.
Remember, combining these drugs and drinking alcohol can have fatal outcomes.
Be Safe!
That depends...Only in low doses of each (together). Soma is sold at 250 and 350 mgs; Ativan ranges from .05 (1/2) mg to 2 mg. IF you have MINIMAL or ZERO tolerance to Ativan (or any benzo, such as Xanax, Klonopin, or Valium) then I would NOT recommend it. Taking, say, a 350 mg Soma and a 1 mg Ativan, without tolerance, will not hurt you, but STAY AT HOME and DO NOT DRIVE. The Ativan alone will probably cause you blackouts. Ativan takes about 30 minutes-an hour to feel it, by the way... and the Soma will make you literally feel like you just had a few shots of liquor, within 15-30 minutes. **Disclaimer: Soma is known to lower people's seizure thresholds, so if you have ANY seizure disorder, including epilepsy, or any drug-related seizure disorders, including benzo withdrawal, then DO NOT TAKE IT. **
They ARE prescribed together... In tolerant people who don't have any previous drug addiction, etc. And for people with certain diseases (MS, muscle spasms, herniated discs and the like).
BUT YOU MUST BE CAREFUL, even when they are Rx'd together. Ativan is VERY addictive, even at .05 mgs for 2 weeks, and the w/ds are literally from hell--Worse than heroin. Benzos are among the only 3 drugs that you cannot simply stop after a long period of use. The others are alcohol and barbiturates. Not a good road to get started out on. These are two drugs that you can't mess with.
And DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL on either one. You will forget 100% of your memory with either one, and specifically with both of them, especially if you have no tolerance to Ativan alone.
So if you oddly fit into the above disease categories, take them, always be careful, and never take more/
That is something you should ask your doctor. If the same doctor prescribed them both too you, then they should know that you would have to take them in the same day, and would warn you if you shouldn't, but I would certainly call your regular doctor's office to be sure. I can tell you this much, you are definitely going to be knocked for a loop if you do!
