Assuming that you don't have any reactions to either of these drugs, and you are in otherwise good health except for elevated blood pressure (hence the simvastatin), yes you should be fine taking these two together. You shouldn't take simvastating (Zocor) and Mucinex D together though because Mucinex D's active ingredients are Guaifenesin and Psudoephedrine whereas Mucinex DM has Guaifenesin and Dextromethorphan, a Psudoephedrine 'substitute' which should not raise blood pressure.

Either way, it is always a good idea to check with your doctor or a pharmacist before taking drugs together. I am a certified pharmacy technician so I know drugs a bit, but second opinions are always good!

Is mucinex dm safe to take while breastfeeding?

There are some who say it is not safe and others who say it is. The best thing to do is to ask your doctors. Here are the responses: No. Mucinex DM is not safe to take while pregnant. The plain Mucinex without the decongestant (DM) is safe to take. No. Mucinex DM is not safe to take while pregnant. The plain Mucinex without the decongestant (DM) is safe to take. The "DM" portion of the medication is not a decongestant. It stands for Dextromethorphan which is a cough suppressant...and which (in the form of Robitussin DM) is considered safe by many OB doctors. Mucinex DM is safe during pregnancy. Had the same issue today actually. 12 weeks pregnant and unsure of what to take. Went to CVS without my cell so I couldn't call my OB. I asked the pharmacist and he said mucinex DM would be best. He recommended not taking anything with sudafed or phenylephrine in it, which rules out any type of Tylenol cold medicine. Mucinex DM is not a decongestant, its a cough suppressant. Mucinex D is the decongestant. If you're congested and coughing, take the Mucinex DM for the cough and a saline nasal spray for the congestion. Pharmacist recommended method.

Can you take Mucinex DM and Oxycodone together?

I take 225mg of oxycodone per day as prescribed for back pain. Often times,as I live near the beach, the humidity makes my nose feel clogged. I take my nightly dose (75mg) and usually 30 mins later take mucinex DM maximum strength. I have not experienced any problems so far. Of course you should consult ur doc before you begin taking any kind of new meds.
