Further, the supplemental and additive effect of the narcotic, hydrocodone, plus the alcohol can lead to greater intoxicating effect and if overdone can be dangerous or fatal. A good example is the Hale-Bopp comet people who castrated themselves, and took Jello shots with Demerol; all of them died of respiratory arrest. Although small amounts of alcohol probably will not hurt you; large amounts or over time can, or if you have liver problems. The label from the pharmacy will probably warn you.
