Will herpes outbreak go away without treatment?

Sometimes, but this is remission. Cold sores are a mild form of herpes. They stay temporarly and return temporarly. There is no cure.

A herpes sore can be spread from one lip to another. When someone has one, one must avoid sharing all lipstick, gloss, chapstick, spoons, utensils, kissing. All contact must be avoided, as herpes will stay in the human body forever. It will not always be a sore, but it will always be in the body. Oral herpes is one thing; genital herpes is another thing--different organisms, but similar. Avoid all contact until the sore is completely healed.
