It's just a feeling that people have like happiness.

Fear is a natural survival instinct. If humans didn't have any fear, a lot more would die in dangerous situations. A certain level of fear is healthy, but too much can impair one's life.

Depending on what they are afraid of, most people become afraid of something due to a bad experience with it in their past. This is the case with most phobias, although, some people can be afraid of something because they are new to it and become frightened.

Fear is the bodies warning and protection system. If you're scared, you first instinct is to run away. This is because the body doesn't want to be hurt, so it scares your conscious, and you run away.
