Migraine is a genetic, neurologic disease. It is a primary condition, which means that it is not caused by another condition, including poor eyesight. Eyesight problems can trigger Migraine attacks in some patients. Migraine aura can also cause eyesight difficulties which may make the Migraine patient think they need glasses, but aura goes away when the Migraine attack resolves.

For appropriate diagnosis, treatment and management of Migraine, please seek the help of a board certified Migraine and headache specialist who has had additional training and experience in headache medicine.

For appropriate diagnosis, treatment and management of sight difficulties, please seek the help of a board certified ophthalmologist who is specially trained in caring for eyes.
