  • avoid alcohol and spicy food
  • drink warm tea with honey (if you can have honey)
  • take Advil or Motrin (if you can have it)
  • eat soft foods like bananas
  • gargle warm salt water a few times a day (8 oz water to 1/2 teaspoon salt)
