There does not appear to be a scientific name to specifically describe the fear of drains. Perhaps the fear stems from a fear of losing something valuable down the drain, or the resulting mess should something clog the drain. A fear of swimming pool drains or street drainages may indicate a fear of drowning.
For most, it tends to go hand in hand with submechaniphobia. A fear of man made objects underwater. Sunken ships. Bouys. Those terrifying pictures of a diver beside a giant ship propeller. those of us who suffer from that tend to also be afraid of the uncertainty of what a drain or pool filter could mean.
There is not a specific name for a phobia that is for the fear of pool drains. However, the fear of pool drains is not an uncommon fear.
