The brain is the only area affected by Epilepsy. As the brain controls many other parts of the body, other things can then be indirectly affected, like the nervous system, which is why shaking is sometimes associated with epilepsy. Seizures affect different people in different ways, so not everyone shakes when they have a seizure.

Epilepsy effects many parts of the brain depending on the cause and what type. Seizures are catagorized into two types, focal and generalized. Focal seizures come from a single area of the brain. Generalized come from multiple areas.

Epilepsy affects the brain. This in turn can lead to involuntary movements in different parts of the body during a seizure, but only because of the unusual brain activity during one. The rest of the body is not affected independently of the brain or directly by Epilepsy.
