There are numerous casting techniques so this is not one answer for all situations. I am a full time bass tournament angler so I use overhead, sidearm, roll, pitch and flip casting. Pitching and flipping primarily use forearm and wrist muscles. Same for roll casting. Overhand and sidearm casting use muscles from the shoulder(deltoid) to the wrist.
A bait caster is a type of fishing reel. The other two common types of fishing reels are the spinning reel and spincast reels. The baitcaster reel has the reel and the guides of the on the top of the fishing rod (as does a spincaster rod and reel). The baitcaster reel is the most difficult to learn how to use but generally casts farther and has a better drag system for handling larger and more powerful fish.
A Noodle Rod is a long light action casting/spinning rod. Usually from 8ft to 11ft in length. It is similar to a fly rod. They can be from medium to ultralight action. The heavier action rods are usually used for catching Steelheads. They can be used for fresh and saltwater fishing.
Before you can get the gold fishing rod you have to get the silver fishing rod and before you get the silver fishing rod you have to get the copper fishing rod. To get the copper fishing rod you upgrade your regular fishing rod at the general store.
If you mean 'bending the rod' you mean casting with enough force to cause it to deform into a curve, the answer is Yes. The rod absorbs energy when flexed and releases it when allowed to straighten. Too little bend and there is insufficient energy to add significantly to the casting distance. Too much bend and you will cause permanent rod damage and have an uncontrolled cast. The cast should be smooth and continuous to maximize casting distance and minimize the energy required by the angler.
The golden fishing rod extends the fishing line 2x farther then a regular fishing rod.

There are several differences between a fly fishing rod and a regular fishing rod and the most obvious would be the the way the rod is constructed. Regular fishing rods are usually glued pieces to form the rod whereas the fly fishing rod is usually "glued" together with synthetic materials.
Any medium power rod with a fast action is good for general bass fishing (casting lures or using live bait). This is usually paired with a reel capable of spooling a 100 yards of 10lb line (or 20 lb braid). Bass fishing also has a number of techniques that can be used (such as flipping, pitching, frogging) that have specialty rods that can be used. Most people prefer to use a rod length of 6'6" though longer and shorter rods can be used depending on the situation.
You get a free twig fishing rod automatically when you go to the fishing pond.
