Number one, obesity is a condition of being, not a disease. Diseases cannot be changed, they can be cured, but not changed. Conditions of being, such as being obese, can be changed. Diet and exercise can change the body fat percentage of any person. Therefore, the life span of someone who is obese and works to change it is going to be radically different than someone who resigns themselves to yet another box of twinkies, and a sedentary lifestyle.
