It is when cells of the uterus grow aggressively into the muscles wall lining the uterus, and when you have your period those cells also bleed. This is a white knuckle pain that lasts up to 90 seconds and disappears. I know this because I had it. It is fairly rare. My doctor knew instantly from symptoms.
