Cortal ® made by GalaxoSmithKline is actually three different preparations to reduce pain and fever:

Cortal For Adults tab ® Contains acetylsalicylic acid 500 mg, caffeine 30 mg (aspirin and caffeine)

Cortal For Children tab ® Contains 80 mg acetaminophen (paracetamol)

Cortal Ibuprophen tab ® Contains ibuprofen

None of these will cause miscarriage or prevent or end pregnancy

Overdosage with "Cortal ®" can cause delayed labor, liver and heart damage for your baby, and liver damage to you. It does not end pregnancy.

Just to add some juice to the rumor stated above, a few years back the secretary of my boss actually confessed that she ingested 7 tablets of Alaxan (I'm just saying since these 2 medicines are probably identical in terms of content) which led to bleeding a few hours later. She was rushed to a nearby hospital where the fetus had to be extracted before the condition became septic.

While these could all be just hearsay it's best to take any form of medication as indicated or as prescribed by a doctor.
