You cannot exceed your maximum heart rate (MHR). Some literature suggests a simple formula to determine MHR, however these guidelines are only a basic starting point. Your personal MHR will depend on many factors, including age, sex, and importantly, strength of your legs.

If you observe a heart rate higher than the point you believed was your maximum, your MHR should be adjusted to reflect the higher number.

In Humans your maximal heart rate is about 200 BPM. You cannot go above your maximal heart rate so the heart rate would only beat at a maximal rate of about 200 BPM. However with people with diseased hearts their hearts can speed up to higher heart rates than 220 however this occurs in diseased hearts. Heart rates can occur up to 600 BPM. It can causes heart damage, inchemia heart disease- very low cardiac output and coronary blood flow, fibbrilation.

Your heart rate is always higher during excercise. If there's discomfort or shortness of breath, see your doctor.

What does exercise have to do with your heart?

It has to do with your heart because when you exercise, your heart beats faster every time and it tells when you're working hard or not. When your heart beats too fast, it means you are working too hard and you might have to take a break. But if your heart isn't beating to fast, then it means you're not working that hard. If your heart is beating not too hard or not too slow, then you would be in good shape. Sometimes when you work too hard, your heart may have some problems and start having some kind of stroke or something.
