The answer to your question, depends if the doctor removes your prostate.

If your prostate is removed, you will not be able to impregnate a woman through sexual intercourse, as the prostate mixes with semen to coat and nourish sperm. You can still get pregnant via IVF or have your sperm implanted in the uterus.

If the prostate is not removed, it is possible normal function can be restored in any where from 3 months to 1 year.

One of the biggest consequences of prostate surgery and cancer treatment may be the diminished sex life suffered by the patient. But this does not happen in every case, sometimes men enjoy a healthy sex life after procedures. Other consequences are diminished finances due to treatment. There may be other acute consequences, but in most cases people are relieved to have the procedures due to pain control and better bladder functioning.
