If your the surface of your hands starts to look like the bumps on the basketball, and start to itch uncontrollably, chances are it is a latex basketball. If you wheeze every time you play basketball, chances are it is a latex basketball. Of course, this is only if you have an allergy like I do. I have never encountered a basketball that did not have latex.
No, unless you have a latex allergy.

This may be able to be answered on the LASG website(Latex Allergy Support Group).
One reason is that some people have an allergy to latex.
It is unlikely that having a latex allergy would make you allergic to a rubber plant (Ficus elastica), as the latex in plants like rubber plants contains different proteins than synthetic latex. However, it's always best to consult with an allergist or medical professional for personalized advice.
umm no you can't. When your allergic to anything its still going to still effect you. Sorry but no latex mattress for you!! That answer is incorrect. What you are allergic to is a protein residue that is left over in cold processed latex like gloves. Latex mattresses are cooked and the protein is destroyed by heat. There has never been a latex allergy reported in relation to latex mattress products.
A sensitivity or allergy to latex is not uncommon. While prolonged exposure is usually required to cause irritation, some patients are highly sensitive and can have no contact with latex. Further, medical personnel generally wear a stethoscope around the neck for many hours of the day. Anyone with a latex allergy would want to use a latex-free stethoscope.
Balloons can be made from different materials, including latex, rubber, or plastic. Latex balloons are made from natural latex rubber, which comes from the sap of the rubber tree. If you have a latex allergy, it's important to avoid latex balloons and opt for alternative materials like Mylar balloons.

yes! some people are only allergic to rubber (elastic, latex, spandex) which has been bleached or treated with rubber accelerators. Other people are allergic to latex, spandex, tires, pencil erasers, tennis balls, condoms, hairbrushes. They put rubber everywhere! Take it from me, I have a TRUE latex allergy. with a true latex allergy, an exposure leads to at least three weeks of contact dermatitis. For someone with this allergy, that includes spandex in jeans (which is bad because it is treated with lots of the rubber accelerator which is sometimes the real allergy)
