Hyperthyroidism combined with periods of Hypothyroidism can cause the events. The thyroidism causes hormone imbalances, Vit D deficiency, Calcium Deficiency. A goiter may be involved. Hashimotes an autoimmune disease attacks the thyroid. The autoimmune response is caused by gluten. It only takes a teaspoon of bread a month to cause the gluten response. It may take years for the thyroid to be destroyed. Then a stress event triggers depression, dizziness, fatigue, insomnia, weight gain. Synthetic Thyroid makes things worse for Hashimotoes. Undress stress or combined with gluten the body turns T4 into Reverse T3. The Reverse T3 blocks the absorption of T3. Without T3 your body cannot absorb oxygen. If Cortisol is low then T3 pools in the blood stream. If the Cortisol then goes high then the T3 is pushed into the cells and suddenly you went from Hypothyroidism to Hyperthyroidism. The cortisol may cycle through the day. It may be high at night and low in the day. It may be low at night and high in the day. I am of course only speaking of myself. I am not a doctor, just someone who is trying to understand what is happening to me. For me it took times release T3 and some natural herbs to calm my coritsol. When I get sick everything just goes haywire.
