Tension headache, migraine, temporal arteritis, raised intracranial pressure and meningitis can all cause headaches, including tightness in the temples.

If you experience nausea, vomiting, inability to look at lights, blurred vision, pain on moving the jaw, neck stiffness, alteration in consciousness, fever or a skin rash you should consult a GP or another doctor
