hyperplasia or hypertrophy
Hyperplasia.
The organ that opens in the floor of the mouth is called the submandibular salivary gland. It secretes saliva into the mouth through ducts located on the floor of the mouth.
This condition is known as hyperplasia. Hyperplasia involves an increase in the number of cells in a particular tissue or organ, often in response to stimuli like hormonal changes or chronic irritation. The cells in hyperplasia are typically structurally normal and retain their normal arrangement within the tissue.
The symptoms for prostatic hyperplasia are urinary retention and lower urinary track symptoms. The causes are not fully known yet, and the treatment is generally not treating the problem but instead the symptoms the problem causes. Treatment includes trying to reduce the size of the prostate and undergoing drug therapy.
