The symptoms of allergy, intolerance, or sensitivity, can be anything ranging from the classical rashes, hives, itching, and breathing difficulties, to headaches, nausea, fatigue, painful joints, muscle weakness, 'flue like symptoms, sleeplessness, twitchy legs, mood swings, depression, brain fog/fag. The list of symptoms is endless when you include food intolerance.
"Symptoms of cat allergy are the same as other respiratory Allergies: runny nose, sneezing, watery and itchy eyes, wheezing, coughing. It is also possible to have a contact allergy (rash) in an area licked by a cat." there is also a company in the UK that sells wipes for pets to reduce the symptoms for allergy sufferers :)
(allergy symptoms progress with time, so you may notice your symptoms worsen at some point )
ANSWER
It isn't clear if you mean cats allergies to things or your allergy to cats, but both are actually very similar.
my cats fur was itchy, fell out, and he bit it out, he had a swelling at one eye and reactions all over his skin when he had an allergy to pollen
i was slightly allergic to my cats nose mucus( yes only the nose mucus), when he cuddled me id come out with a little red rash of hives on the area his mucus touched,
also i had an reaction to my boyfs mums cat a few years later
I'm OK with cats always have been but that time, i think because i got a lot of her fur on me and my allergy had progressed, i had swelling of my eyes, that was pretty bad, i had a runny nose, swelling throat and generally felt a bit unwell, but i got home took my antihistimine and was fine after a few hours .(although my eyes took a day or 2 more to swell down properly)
Usually it's itchy eyes, runny nose, Asthma symptoms or induces asthma symptoms, itchy skin or rash.
There are many ways to reduce allergens in your home and allow for you to own a cat.
1 - Keep your cats indoors only. When they go indoor and outdoor, they clean themselves more often, shed more, and bring inside outdoor allergens. Most people are actually not allergic to cat fur, but are allergic to their saliva and dander that is in their fur.
2 - Keep your cat out of the bedroom and off the furniture. While we love our furry friends to cuddle up next to us in bed, it's hours of exposure to the allergens. Cat trees or cat condos are great alternatives to them being on your furniture.
3- Keep your cat groomed. There are anti-dander shampoos that help allergies and reduce shedding. Also brushing will help.
4 - Wash your hands after petting your cat.
5 - There are awesome meds now that are specifically designed to combat pet allergies. Ask your doctor which they would recommend you use.
