The first few days you will start feeling tired and get a sore throat.

The sore throat will get worse, you will start coughing and produce nasty phlegm.

When you cough, it will cause a irritating tickle feeling near your stomach, lower throat areas.

Sometimes you may not feel sick, you will just get the nasty cough and phelgm.

You may or may not get flu symptoms as well as the chest infection symptoms.

See the doctor immediately and get some antibiotics before it gets worse or develops into pneumonia whic can be dangerous.

After about a week the chest infection should die down and you should nearly be better.

Just take lots of rest and drink alot if hot water with the medicine.

I have tried Amoxycilin which seems to be the best.

Paracetamol can help too.

A chest infection can be caused by bacteria, viruses or fungi. The pathogen would have to access the chest cavity (a puncture wound to the chest or drawing foreign substances into the lungs are the most common methods of entry).

There are many causes from different types of organisms. Some are bacterial such as strep or staph, and others are viral such as influenza. There are also, fungal infections such as cocci. The term chest infection is rather vague. There can be pneuomias or bronchitis or infections of the chest wall. The list of all the causes is quite long.
