the steps of digestion:

1. the food enter through your mouth as the mechanical muscles(teeth and tongue) break down the food into smaller bits while the chemical(saliva or spit) breaks it down so it is easier to chew and swallow

2.next the food gets sent down to the esophagus where it uses muscles contractions to break down your food

3.it gets sent to your stomach where it takes about 10 for water to pass and about 3-4 hours for fatty foods to pass

4. next it gets sent down to the small intestine where the nutrients is taken out and pushed to the liver where it is kept and released

5.goes down to large intestine where your bowel movement is made and you will then release your feces once it hits ur rectum and exits from the body
