It depends on what the cause is. Blood pressure in women can typically run 90 to 100 systolic and be considered perfectly normal. Asymptomatic "low" blood pressure is not considered low blood pressure. If a person has normal (120/80 or less) or high blood pressure (greater than 130/80 or more) and the pressure drops significantly with changing body positions, (i.e., from lying to sitting or standing; sitting to standing), and has symptoms, there is a problem which must be identified and attended to immediately by a physician.
