Total layman here, but my trainer says beer helps the body process lactic acid & recommends 1 beer after a workout. I personally never have this situation & used to work out hard. I think stretching before and after help, with a proper warm up and warm down, and regular exercise vs. overdoing it now and then.
The two main types of lactic acid are L-lactic acid and D-lactic acid. They are optical isomers, meaning they have the same chemical formula but differ in the arrangement of atoms. L-lactic acid is the form produced in the human body during strenuous exercise, while D-lactic acid is produced by certain bacteria.
Lactic Acid FermentationElectrons are released during glycolysis are passed to provide to pyruvic acid to form two molecules of lactic acid.Carried out by many bacteria, most notably by lactic acid bacteria.Used for a quick burst of energy.Alcohol FermentationBegins with glycolysis to produce two molecules of pyruvic acid, two molecules of ATP and four electrons.Carried out by many bacterial and yeasts.Used for energy.
The two types of fermentation are alcoholic fermentation, which produces ethanol and carbon dioxide, and lactic acid fermentation, which produces lactic acid.
Lactic acid dissociates into lactate and hydrogen ions.
The two types of fermentation are alcoholic fermentation, which produces alcohol and carbon dioxide, and lactic acid fermentation, which produces lactic acid. The equation for alcoholic fermentation is: Glucose → 2 ethanol + 2 carbon dioxide The equation for lactic acid fermentation is: Glucose → 2 lactic acid.
Lactic Acid Fermentation and Alcoholic Fermentation.
The two main kinds of fermentation are alcoholic fermentation, which produces ethanol and carbon dioxide, and lactic acid fermentation, which produces lactic acid. Alcoholic fermentation is commonly used in brewing and winemaking, while lactic acid fermentation is used in the production of foods like yogurt and sauerkraut.
The two substances that may be formed in anaerobic respiration are lactic acid and ethanol. Lactic acid is produced in the muscles during strenuous exercise, while ethanol is produced by yeast during fermentation.

Lactic acid is optically active because it has a chiral center, meaning it can exist in two non-superimposable mirror image forms (enantiomers). In the case of lactic acid, the two enantiomers are D-lactic acid and L-lactic acid. Due to their chiral nature, these enantiomers rotate plane-polarized light in opposite directions, a property known as optical activity.
