Don't know what brand you were using, but there are many still on the market. Walgreens has a store brand with benzoyl peroxide, as do University Medical And Budhi Teencare.
Most acne fighting face washes include benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid.
Well after i wash my face and dry it, i usually put the clindamycin on and then i put on the benzoyl you can let the clindamycin dry but you don't have too, i just apply benzoyl right after i am done spreading the clindamycin
The answer is actually not that straightforward unless we talk about the active ingredients in acne treatments. Most over the counter acne treatments contain either benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. Benzoyl peroxide is used as an anti-microbial to inhibit the bacteria associated with acne, and salicylic acid is used to exfoliate the over growth of skin cells that block the pores. To be effective, they must be used on a consistent basis since they are preventative treatments. They should not be used together; use one in the morning and one at night. Of the two, benzoyl peroxide is the better treatment. There are several facial washes that contain benzoyl peroxide. However, when used in a wash, the wash must be left on for several minutes to do any good. And you really just end up washing it down the drain. It is better to wash your face with a mild cleanser such as Cetaphil or Eucerin, then apply a benzoyl peroxide gel or cream that is meant to be left on. Many people like Proactiv because its formulation makes it feel more like a cosmetic than a medicine. But any label that claims to treat acne usually contains benzoyl peroxide, since strict labeling guidelines must be adhered to. Since acne treatments can be irritating, look for one with 2.5% benzoyl peroxide, the mildest, and work your way up if you need to.
Most acne washes have salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Salicylic Acid has 7 carbons, 6 Hydrogens, and 3 Oxygens. Salicylic Acid is also called 2-Hydroxybenzoic Acid. Benzoyl Peroxide has 14 Carbons, 10 Hydrogens, and 4 Oxygens. Benzoyl Peroxide is also called dibenzoyl peroxide. I hope this is what your looking for.
Yes, it will leave a slight white cast on the skin once it dries. I use it overnight and wash it off in the morning. Don't forget to moisturize as benzoyl peroxide can dry out your skin! I cannot stress it enough, it will seriously improve the look and overall health of your skin!
To treat cystic acne wash the area twice daily, using an antibacterial cleanser. Apply a thin layer of acne treatment cream to your cystic acne. Opt for a cream that contains benzoyl peroxide Also eat a healthy diet.
if you use a mild cleansing wash morning and night and then apply your BP AND THEN APPLY SOME MOISTURISER IT WILL THEN BE CLEAR IN 3 WEEKS
Take frequent showers, drink lots and lots of water, exercise, wash your face twice a day, avoid touching your face and picking at acne, sleep. You can use some benzoyl peroxide, but that causes a rash for some people. And when you are drying your face, don't rub, pat it dry. Fancy creams sometimes work. Hope this helps!
Hormonal changes both monthly and yearly can affect the effectiveness of the face wash. There are certain ingredients that you will grow immune to with prolonged use (benzoyl peroxide in proactive is one of the most common immunities). Both cases may find the wash effective again after you have stopped use for period of time.
it does work wonders, listen very carfully.. use superdrug clarity sensitive daily cleansing wash then.. use oxy on the spot benzoyl peroxide cream(this is the stuff that makes you skin dry but works!) so use superdrug clarity shine control moisturiser every morning and night after applying the benzoyl peroxide cream. also buy eucerin bath and shower gel, use this if u have back, body or neck acne and you only have to put a capfull in (a bit does go a long way and smells lovely) after you do all of this then your skin will be virtually clear in just 3 weeks!!!! hope this helped Mitch
