Depending on the medication, it is usually safe to use a migraine medication everyday. However, it is not wise to do so. Taking either abortive migraine medications or pain medications (and this includes Tylenol and Excedrin as well as prescription pain relievers), can cause a situation where not only does the medication stop working, but you get caught in a daily headache cycle. And the only way to break that cycle is stop taking the medication completely for up to three months.
The golden rule is to not take your migraine abortive or pain medication more than 2-3 times a week or more than half the days in the month.
Note: The above is assuming that you are taking the recommended dose. Keep in mind that acetaminophen (Tylenol) is declared safe when you take up to 4000mg a day (in divided doses), even taking 3000mg daily can harm the liver. It is important to be aware of all the Tylenol you are ingesting, as it is in many, many medications. Any time you read APAP on your prescription bottle, it contains generic acetaminophen.
You should always follow the label instructions unless your doctor gives you alternative instructions. Taking this drug daily can be dangerous. It can cause liver and organ problems or failure and can result in Medication Overuse Headache (MOH). See your physician or headache specialist for appropriate diagnosis and treatment of Migraine and headache disorders.
Chronic daily migraine headache
As far as is known, no, at least for an adult.
Sometimes. It depends on what those other migraine medications are. If you are talking about migraine specific medications, such as Imitrex (or anything where the ending of the generic version is "triptan") then yes. If you are taking about preventative medications used to treat migraines, then also - yes. Midrin contains acetaminophen. Fioricet with codeine also contains acetaminophen. Oxycodone is often prepared as Percocet, which has acetaminophen too. If you have been taking Excedrin or any Tylenol product, you need to be aware of this as well. People do die from liver failure from taking too much acetaminophen. The limit is 4000mg in a day, or 3000mg if you are taking it daily.
It is unwise to begin mixing hydrocodone/APAP with any form of Excedrin, because they both contain acetaminophen. It it has been four to six hours after you have taken Excedrin, then you are following the instructions on the label and are not in any danger. Excedrin contains 250mg of acetapinophen per pill. Hydrocodone/APAP can contain anywhere from 325-750mg per pill. The most commonly prescribed dose has 500mg of acetaminophen in it. You should not take more than 4000mg of acetaminophen in a day. If you are taking it daily, you should not take more than 3000mg. Per dose, you should not take more than 1000mg. So, how unsafe it is depends on how much you have taken of each medication. Always read the label, because many, many over the counter medications contain acetaminophen.
Very few migraine medications are controlled substances. The only ones that are are the medications which only treat pain and are not geared directly toward migraine. It is much better to try the medications which ARE geared directly toward migraine, because only taking pain medications will simply cover up the pain instead of the aborting the migraine, and medication-overuse can expose you to rebound headache, which can cause transformed migraine due to medication-overuse, a version of Chronic Daily Headache. None of the triptans are controlled substances. None of the preventative medications (which are all blood pressure medications, anti-seizure medications, or anti-depressants, etc..in other words, in other categories) are controlled substances.

No, it is not recommended. The highest daily dose is 70mg; taken shortly after awakening in the morning. This level of dosage (70mg) is reached after a month or more of slight (10mg) weekly increases to build up to the 70mg dose. Taking 100mg at once would be incredibly dangerous and even if you spread the doses apart (i.e. 8 am and 1 pm) it would be just as dangerous because of Vyvanse's long half-life.
Fish oil is a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, which are beneficial to the heart. Taking daily fish oil supplements may lower triglycerides, protect against sudden death, heart attacks, dangerous abnormal heart rhythms and more.
Migraine is a genetic, neurologic disease for which there is no cure, only treatment. There are three types of medicines for Migraine attacks (which do not have to have a pain component at all).Abortives - stop the Migraine processRescues - stop the painPreventives - prevent attacksThere is no single *best* medication for Migraine. Each person is different, and what works for one patient will not work for another. Often it is found that a combination of medicines and approaches is best for a patient. Topiramate (Topamax) is a preventive medicine however, it is not designed to abort an attack already in progress. For best results in diagnosis and treatment of Migraine and other headache disorders, seek the help of a board certified headache and Migraine specialist.
