The survival rate for colon cancer depends on the stage of cancer. For example, in stage 1 the survival rate is 75% and for stage 4 is only 6%. Colon caner is terminal but there is a good survival rate for most stages.

Not always. Its definitely worse than if it hadn't metastasized, but it depends on the type and location of the metastases. Lance Armstrong had several secondary tumors (lung and brain) and he is now fine. His was a relatively easy to cure cancer, though.
