Other vegetables (fruits) that are bad for gout are asparagus, mangoes and mushrooms. I later learned from my doctor that the blood pressure medicine I am taking can also cause gout by interacting with different foods, the doctor decided to put me on allopurinol to prevent futher gout attacks.
A person who has gout can eat cornmeal without any issues. They can eat as much as they want, in moderation of course. Foods to avoid are sugar and fatty foods that can cause a buildup of uric acid which contributes to gout.
