Tobacco is hard to breath because it is hard to breath. :) Actually, it is because the thickness of the smoke that you inhale that makes you hard to breath. If you take a little amount of smoke, it'll be quite easy. For the one who have smoking for a very long time, it'll be quite firm when they inhale quite amount of smoke. For the starters, it'll be difficult. That's the time when you get headache or dizziness along. I'm not sure that this answer is correct.
