Yes, chemically. ADHD and Parkinson's are chemically related in that both show lower than normal amounts of the neurotransmitter dopamine in the brain. Dopamine plays a role in focus, learning, attention and movement.

The dopamine deficiency of ADHD & Parkinson's disease are in fact,so closely related that, these nervous system illnesses have occurred in different members of the same family.More startling is the fact that Attention deficit disorder & Parkinson's disease have even occurred in the same person!

In cases such as these, Parkinson's disease is usually diagnosed(much later!) Anywhere from two to as many as five decades after a childhood diagnosis of ADHD.

Dementia with Lewy- Bodies(an illness of the nervous system.) has also been linked to ADHD.
