No. 443 platelet count is medical-speak for 443,000 platelets in a cubic millimeter of blood-- and normal is generally considered between 150,000 and 400,000/mm3. Having a slightly elevated platelet count is not a big deal.

139 what? Per micro liter? This question is pretty broad. The "normal" range for a child is 150,000 to 450,000 per micro liter of blood. For an adult it's 150,000 to 40,000 per micro liter of blood.

Re-check the lab slip because most labs record platelets as you reported BUT further down you will note it is in the thousands. A normal platelet count for a child is: 250,000 - 450,000.

it is definitely low and underlying causes should be ruled out. Start taking folic acid and vitamin c supplements to pep up the count
