Being completely anorexic will actually cause the starvation response to kick in, slowing down your progress.
The main reason for fat loss should be for health reasons. People who are anorexic look very thin, unhealthy and thus unattractive. Being anorexic will also cause social problems.
For improved health, improved physical appearance, mental health and social interactions, it is best to approach fat loss in a holistic manner. Do not try to make drastic changes.
Don't try to starve yourself. Start first by adding green vegetables (for example microwave frozen vegetables). Eventually replace all high fat and high sugar foods with lower calorie ones. For example, replace fries with baked potatoes, then with broccoli, etc. If you like candy, take a sweet apple instead. For a sweeter choice try grapes or ripe bananas. These foods may not seem as sweet or delicate at first, but this changes over time, and you will grow to like them much more as they will give you more energy and you will not have a bloated feeling afterward.
Many advocate increasing protein intake. This is fine, but do not go to a high fat high protein diet.
The MAIN key is to make lifestyle changes for the rest of your life. Don't try to speed things along. Eat right, exercise and the good changes will come into your life much sooner than you expect.
It depends. Some people might become anorexic in a matter of a few months, if they litterally cut off all food. Others might "ease" their way into anorexia, limiting food little by little and slowly adding in exercise over the course of a few years. Generally, a person is considered "anorexic" if they have a bad relationship with food, some mental issues with depression / low self-esteem / BDD (Body Dismorphic Disorder), significant weight loss, low BMI (Body Mass Index), organ problems, and / or other health problems.
First of all, you can't "go" anorexic. It is a serious mental illness that will ravage your mind, your body, and your soul. It is not a "quick" or "easy" way to lose weight, and no individual should ever be attempting to "turn it on," because even if an anomaly occured and that were possible, there is definitely no way to turn it off.
But the weight losscould happen many ways. Many people with anorexia are normal weight, these days the rail-thin, emaciated girls make up about 5-10% of anorexics. The rest are thin (because an official diagnosis of anorexia nervosa requires a weight under 85% of your ideal) but often not so much that others would immediately be aware that the individual is suffering.
Signs to watch for in a suspected anorexic are weakness, coldness, substantial weight loss in a short time, missed periods (if you have access to that information), dissappearing after meals (yes, even for anorexia this applies), brittle hair, fingers and teeth, jaundice, pale skin, and sunken eyes and cheeks.
If you think you may be suffering from anorexia, bulimia, ed-nos or any other eating disorder, GET HELP NOW. 1 in 5 people with an eating disorder will die from it. DO NOT WAIT.
I think itwill take a year before you start losing weight or increasing in weight.

It takes at last 3 days to start losing weight. But now a days dieting is not advisable. There are other exercises & diet change options which can help you losing weight. Thanks Ben www.tivamo.com
If you keep to a routine exercise plan and eat a well-balanced diet, a healthy weight loss is 2 pounds per week.
It may take too long. The body will go into 'starvation mode' where it will hold onto all of the body's fat that it can and the person may die before they see 'anorexic looking' weight loss. The stomach then gets bloated and the person will look very pregnant. The the body will start digesting the muscles, then the intestines, which will kill you if your heart doesn't fail you first. It's not worth it. Lose the weight the way you gained it, gradually.
It can take months for the average anorexic to experience the consequences of organ malfunction or failure. For those with serious conditions, it can happen within weeks, though.
they were anorexic and bulimic. mary-kate's weight dropped to 82 pounds
There are safe ways of loosing weight. They are easier and much healthier and don't involve lying to friends and family. If you are really concerned about your weight, talk to your doctor about a program to help you out. In the long run you will be happier, healthier and feel better than trying to be anorexic.
If you only eat that for a certain amount of days, then yes. You will also starve all they long, won't be able to think about anything else but the sound that your starving stomach makes and end up looking like an anorexic. Also, you will quickly gain back that weight once you start eating again.
That is very individual and also depends on if you throw up or not, what you eat/drink and how long you have been doing it. The body stops losing weight when it notices nothing comes in. It sets itself to starvation and tries to keep all the fat it has. if you want to lose weight this is not the way. It's a slow way to suicide and along the way you lose your hair, teeth, period among other things.
I'm sorry, but WikiAnswers is meant to be a place where questions are answered that are there to help or educate or assist a person. Suggesting a method of weight loss(of burning fat) through encouraging anorexia (a potentially fatal and life-endangering disease) would not be helping, but would be promoting this dangerous life style.
Exercise and gradual diet change which works in to your life - not making huge changes.
