Usually it is between the ages of 8 and 12 years old. My son is starting this now and he is 8 years old. He had pain last night that nearly made him cry. I looked up "growing pains" and he has the exact symptoms: pain started late at night, he was very tired, the pain was deep in his thigh muscles, massage helped the pain, and he fell asleep as soon as the Advil kicked in. He gets these ever once in awhile, not often, and he is always relieved in about 20 minutes after the medicine is given. If these pains get more frequent I will get him checked out by his doctor, but for now I believe it is growing pains since it doesn't happen often.
Yes.
Growing pains.
LEG
Depending on where the leg pains are it can be normal, If it is in or around the shin area then it is highly likely that they are just common growing pains from the bones extending. If they are not in that area and they persist I would ask a doctor.
I suppose its because different parts of the body can grow faster than other parts at different times and so subtle as it is, maybe one body part that's growing faster than another might push against it slightly, causing some discomfort for the person - or something like that.
Your legs may hurt when you sleep because you are experiencing growing pains. You may also have restless leg syndrome which can cause sore legs.
Could be a blood clot. If it is it will kill you. Go and see a doctor.
See a doctor as soon as you can.
Leg pains are involuntary muscle constraints in the legs which cause cramps. There are caused by many different factors. You can find a lot more info at /www.everydayhealth.com.
I'm pretty sure restless leg syndrome is when your leg feels like it's moving, but it's not. This can just be growing pains, or sometimes walking can hurt too, and a swollen, sprained, or broken ankle/leg an cause pain during the day, because at night, it's mostly rested.
The worst of it will last 5-7 days.
Depending on how bad it is, it can last up to 3-4 months.
