Visualization is a tool that can be used for many things. The way visualization works, is if you can hold a picture of something you want to achieve in your mind for long enough, that picture or feeling or thing, literally embeds itself in your brain. Our brains are amazing at figuring out how to get things, and after a certain image of something we want to achieve is embedded in our brains, our unconscious minds go to work on figuring out how to get that thing. If you are looking for relaxation and stress reduction, visualizing it will help you achieve it. If you want to promote relaxation in your life, you can sit down, close your eyes, and picture what relaxation looks like to you. If you could do anything to relax, what would it be? Then picture your self doing that thing. Same goes for the reduction of stress. If you feel stressed, or just want less stress in your life on a day to day basis, then sit down, picture your self being in total relaxation or at total peace with every situation that comes your way. One of the most important aspects of visualization is the feeling associated with the image. If you can really feel it emotionally, it helps it come into action faster.

What is Relaxology?

From what I can tell, relaxology is a relaxation technique similar to massage. Unlike massage however, there is not pressure applied or manipulation of tissues. It is a legit technique as it has a certification body called Relaxology Professionals of America. Its new and still on the outside looking-in as far the bodywork industry is concerned. I was curious why the question was asked in the mental health section. But as i researched, they focus on mental relaxation more so than physical if that makes sense. There is a light fingertip touch involved, but its to promote relaxation of the mind. Perhaps they view this as a drug alternative to mental relaxation.
