The diaphragm is a broad flat sheet separating the thoracic and abdominal cavities. When that contracts, it flattens and opens up the lungs increasing their volume. When the volume goes up, the pressure goes down and air flows into the lungs.
Similarly, the external intercostals contract opening up the ribcage outward. The same volume/pressure effect goes on.
Movement
because it does
The respiratory system helps you to breathe and if you couldn't breathe correctly your immune system would go down. That is how these system rely on each other.
Diaphragm is not part of respiratory system but part of muscular system but it helps in breathing movements .yes
A muscular system is your hole body with bones that move if you diren't have a muscular system you will be like a taco not moving. The muscular system is the largest system out of the respiratory, digestive, circulatory, skeletal.and nervous system.
The Respiratory System regulates breathing and gas exchanges within an organism. In humans, this system includes the lungs, airways, and respiratory muscles.

The respiratory system, because it helps you breathe. :)
The muscular system provides additional movement to create a relative vacuum in the lungs, which draws air into the air sacs. The respiratory system provides oxygen that muscles need to create movement.
