i really don't know the answer to this question but in guessing if you have your ears pierced you should use antiseptic or alcohol to keep your earlobe clean, i myself have a infected cartilage it is red, swelling, painful, warm totouch, discharging clear liquid but make sure you don't confuse it with a allergic reaction i suggest you keep your earlobe clean with alcohol and wash your hands before you clean it. If it is swollen then use sea salt and warm water . =] thanks
