The earliest age to tell if your child is developing autism is by 12 months. The most dominant thing that can tell you is if your child is not responding to basic tasks/things, like your voice or their name.

Where do you go if you have Aspergers?

You can't get rid of AS, you are born with it and there is no cure :(

What if your wife has Asperger's Syndrome?

If your wife has Asperger's there is nothing you need to worry about. Aspergers has no cure and is reletively mild on the autistic scale. Aspergers may include things such as OCD, depression, anxiety, besides the traits that mark Aspergers such as having certain almost obessive interests and generally not being very talkative. If you are however concerned such as the possibility of having a child, the odds of the child developing Aspergers is around 80% from what I've read. In most cases from what I've seen and experienced (I have Aspergers) people with Aspergers are fine and prefer to ignore the fact they have it and try to live a normal life. The best thing you can do is treat her to things she likes and not bring the issue up (not unless she has an interest with it :p).

How do you tell a parent that you think their child has Asperger's syndrome?

My mother-in-law showed my wife an article on Aspergers Syndrome. That's how we figured out that our daughter had it. Tell the parent to read the explanation of Aspergers on Wikipedia, and see if they can detect any similarities.

Could my child have aspergers?

AS can be determined by a few common traits. A good way to determine AS though is to consult with a child psychologist. .Does the child have few if any friends .Does the child have trouble keeping relationships .Is the child quiet or overly talkative .Does the child have poor posture or "military" gait .Does the child speak in a monotonus voice .Does the child have an obsession/intense interest with certain things .Does the child tend to be a bit clumsy .Does he or she have picky habits .Is he or she overly sensitive in any senses .Does he or she avoid eye contact .Does he or she not turn their head and respond if you call their name

Is aspergers a mentall illness?

Aspergers is not a mentall illness it is not a diesease you can,t catch aspergers by being around someone with aspergers. People with aspergers are born with it. Although aspergers affects the way people think and veiw the world it is not a diesese. Recent aspergers studies have shown that in brains of people with aspergers there is a difference in the way the brain is wired and set up. and there have also been studies of aspergers brain waves and it showed the brain waves of people with aspergers differed from nerotypical brain waves. Just because people with aspergers think differently does not make them mentally ill there is a huge difference between the two.

Should you marry a girl whose brother has aspergers?

Well the better question to ask is do you love her? I mean you must love her if you want to marry her and the point is here if you love her then what does it matter if her brother has aspergers. If you are having doubts about whether your kids will have aspergers then you will have to talk to your doctor but it shouldn't matter because with or without the disease it would still be your child and you shouldn't love it any less.

When was Aspergers Society of Ontario created?

I don't have all of the symptoms of Aspergers. I have a nephew with Autism. Is it possible not to have all the symptoms of Aspergers and still have the condition?

Each person who has aspergers has a different personality, and aspergers manifests itself differently in different persons. So, probably, no one who has aspergers has all the symptoms, because the combination is different in each individual.

How is the GIA - General Intellectual Ability - score used to evaluate children with autism?

One criterion for diagnosing Aspergers is being "average to above average in intellectual ability". The use of the GIA establishes the relative cognitive ability of the child. If the child shows to be below average, then Aspergers is ruled out. (Although that does not mean that autism is ruled out, as it is "average or above" is not a criterion for classic autism.)
