Melanin is depleted over the years by the decrease in vitamins, mainly vitamin b, or malnourishment. If you eat a healthy diet with lots of vitamins that are vital to the body, and the producing of Melanin, you won't have to worry about your hair turning white or grey with age because of the lack of Melanin that usually colors you hair.

∙ 11y agoTo decrease melanin in your skin naturally it is recommended to stay indoors and avoid all sunlight. If you must be out in daytime hours, keep all areas of exposed skin covered, a use of a strong sunblock is suggested as well. A lotion or supplement with Vitamins A, C and E would also be helpful as they are effective in reducing melanin in the skin.

∙ 12y agoYou can produce less melanin if you do not stay out in the sun too often, because the sun radiation encourages the skin to produce more melanin, a pigment which makes your skin darker.
