No, you cannot die from having an anxiety attack.
You can easily stop one taking the following steps:
If you get this right, or even close, it will stop faster than any other method out there. You just have to know that you always control your breathing, which you do by breathing in slowly. KNOW that you're not going to die. It's just a normal feeling for you and nothing else. If you need to, go to the restroom or somewhere private where you can focus on nothing but your breathing.
It's just your heart beating fast, making too much of a certain chemical, that makes your body feel all numb and stiff when you hyperventilate. These attacks come on at any time, even in sleep, so you have to learn to control your breathing and/or get on medication.
I think so. there was a newspaper article depicting a 22 year old mom who "died in the early hours of Sunday morning after a shock panic attack pushed her stomach into her lungs, causing her to die."
I believe what's more important than this news article is determination to become better. Fight and don't give up NO MATTER WHAT. Be stubborn about it. Read a few chapters of "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill so that you know what I'm talking about.
Just because a small percentage of people might die from panic attacks (I'm just making this statistic up, I have no idea) doesn't mean you should focus on the possibility of death. Stop being afraid. YOU have the power to overcome. Be determined. Make it a burning desire for yourself. The key to your recovery is your thinking.
Believe with your heart. Put aside everything else. It's time.
Panic attacks themselves cannot lead to death. However, if you have Asthma and you have a panic attack, there is an increased risk of it triggering an Asthma attack. Some asthma attacks can lead to death if the person is not given the correct medicine, their inhaler or on a nebuliser in hospital) or if they cannot be treated. I myself suffer from severe Asthma and i have have had panic attacks in the past. It is very unlikely that it would happen, but there is always a chance that it happening.
No, but it is going to panic and do everything it can to get away.
