unless the fracture was so small it would heal quickly (a week or two) there would be no reason not to splint it. if a splint was necessary, and the vet wouldn't splint the fracture, go to a different vet.
Stress fracture in ArmA stress fracture within the arm will most likely result in a cast or a removable splint.Stress fracture in LegA stress fracture within the leg will usually result in a walking boot and crutches if it is extremely painful.
No surgery is needed in just about any fracture where the bone(s) can be properly repositioned for healing with simple, external manipulation ... examples might be a hair line fracture or most minor green stick fractures. Unless you have a really bad compound fracture that causes some kind of deformity or loss of circulation in your extremities (toes, fingers, etc.), you probably will not require surgery. The doctor will just set the bone and put a cast on it. Hip fractures, however, often do receive surgeries. Source: I'm a health care provider.
Your question is not clear. Fractures are classified first as to whether they are opened (bone sticking out) or closed. Other ways of describing them are: transverse, simple, green stick, compound, comminuted, spiral, oblique, impacted, fissure and advulsion. Green stick fractures look as if a branch that is green and growing was broken but it was hard because it wasn't dry. As far as how fast they will heal does depend on how close the two ends are together but the doctors do put them as close together as possible. See link below for a diagram:
depending on the severity and area you may have to have it reset and put into a cast or you may just have to wrap it with tape and be careful.
hello, yes you can put it in a cast because at the moment i have fractured my hairline and the doctor put my ankle in plaster all the way up to my knee. It helps support the ankle and you must not put any weight on it once it is in the cast though. Hope this helps.
If the tibia or fibula bone is fractured, they will need to be healed. A doctor will put the limb in a cast to help them heal.
put a bandage on it
put a bandaid on it
No or your body part in a cast will rot and turn green. I tried it and I had to get my right leg removed.
Fix, and maybe put together.
A Colles fracture happens when you fall backwards and put your weight on your wrist and the radious is broken.
