Hello, Today I just had them put in, (Literally about 30 minutes ago), And yes, It hurts a little bit when your having them put in, More so if they are big molars like mine and I have heard that it aches alot after, Mine are just starting to ache, Don't worry, You will be fine, They don't hurt too much and when they are on you can barely tell they are there.
On your braces brackets there is usually a hook (one on top, one on bottom) which you can put your rubber bands on
Your orthodontist will usually tell you if you need rubber bands or not.
I found that the bands actually hurt a lot more than the actual braces...in fact putting the braces on was a piece of cake... :) i agree, i mean i have bands on ATM and im getting more braces (traintracks) in two days time and the pulling of the teeth from the bands is extremely painful and, as all my mates have traintracks, apprantley the actual braces don't hurt as much and the only thing that hurts when getting your braces on is the numbness in your butt when you have to sit there for an hour whilst the dentist puts the braces on :)
If you mean rubber bands for braces, I think you can get them from your orthodontist.
i would think so
The rubber bands in braces are to cover the wire so that it does not scratch up your gums.
The rubber bands apply pressure on the teeth to help them slowly move to the desired position they should be in. I hated those bands when I was a kid too ;)
You probably can, but the rubber bands will break easily and will have to be replaced a lot.
I would choose Gold and Coral:)
It depends on the Dentist you go to. Some will let you have colored rubber bands for free.
its not clinical and i would ask your doc before doing it but for me double rubber bands worked well.
