Can you use petro-carbo medicated first aid salve to treat ringworm?

Yes You can. It works too. My son had a ringworm on both arms about a week after playing with a stray cat tha tlives on our street...I knew exactly what this particular item was on his arm becasue about a day after he played with the cat i notice a few redish pink little spots on his arm...they didn't go away after a few days and were increasingly becoming bigger. I WATCHED THEM AND ON THE THIRD DAY, IT WAS VERY clear what they were, circles with normal skin in the middle and reddish color around the circular shape border and it didn't connect all the way around, there was a tiny opening on one side....this is a ringworm fungus, seen plenty on kids as I use to work for the local school district. I got out my Watkins salve ( used for generations in my family) (we buy it from Cracker Barrel restaurant and gifts) (about $8.00)anyways, I applied this to my sons arm and covered it with a band aides Cris crossed over the area and withing the last two days the redness is gone and the area looks like it is going away and disappearing. I have only applied this for 2 days now and it already looks to be improving. My husband thought I was crazy but he even noticed the improvement. I called the company and told them, and they assured me it is very likely the product is in fact helping the ailment because the salve has antifungal properties in it...it has Phenol and antiseptic properties that are used to treat skin lesion and skin infections or ailments. I use mentholatum on my lips when chapped and campho-phique on cold sores (it dries out the sore and cleans the area and helps slough off the dead skin too) it also helpssoI don't lick them and also on skeeter bites and other bug bites. Yes these medicines have a medicinal smell...and smell like minty menthol.....but i would rather smell like my grandmas medicine cabinet then scratching all day or having chapped lips. Now I have Watkins salve for skin irritations...and ringworms....with kids you need good home remedies.. Thank Goodness because those over the counter creams are expensive and cant be used for anything else but their intended purpose. This salve has a multitude of uses! THANK YOU WATKINS.
