you need antibiotics which means dentist or doctor, sorry.
you can try Tylenol for the immediate pain, but you most likely have an abscess which is an infection. it will get worse without medical care.
you probably don't have insuance which is why you are asking here, try your local county health department. Look in the blue government pages in your phone book. look under county, then health depaetment and most have dental programs. call and find out what you need to do. If you don't see a listing call the health deaprtment and ask them. tell them it's infected. it will be the cheapest care you will fnd. be prepared to wait a very long time when you go. bring a book, anti bacterial hand cleaner and snacks, leave the kids with a sitter.
Good luck and don't forget to brush twice and floss every day! :)

I've had tooth infections that cause my cheeks to swell like a chipmunk. If you get the right antibiotic it can be as little as 2 doses - 24 hours for the swelling to go down. Sometimes it can take 3 or 4 doses to go down - about 48 hours. If you have been on an antibiotic for 3 days and there is no change in the swelling, you should call your doctor. You may need a stronger antibiotic or a different class of antibiotics.
