Yes you can. The virus is highly contagious.
Of course not!
If you are referring to oral herpes, since most people are infected with the virus anyway, you probably have it and don't even know.
Yes you can! there is an 76% chance you will get herpes from sharing a water bottle.
The oral type of herpes can be passed that way but not genital herpes.

If you share a drink with some one that has a visible cold sore then you could possibly get it. But you're more likely to get oral herpes if you kiss some one on the mouth while they have a cold sore.
No it cannot... Only open herpe wound contact to broken or torn skin.
It's possibe but not likely.

You would have to take a sip directly after some one with a visible cold sore or fever blister having a sip. Also herpes doesn't survive for long periods of time in fluids.

It's more likely to be passed by kissing then sharing a bottle of water.
Possible if you take a sip of the same glass with seconds of some one with a visible cold sore taking a sip. But not likely to happen because herpes doesn't live for more then a few seconds when it's out side of the body. It also doesn't like to float around in fluids.
Yes, you can easily catch oral herpes (cold sores) when sharing the same cup or glass with someone who has a cold sore. That is unless you wash the cup or glass is hot water after the person with the cold sore has drunk from it and then use it.

Oral herpes is very common and many carry the virus with out ever knowing it, they are immune to the virus. However some are not and will experience cold sores/oral herpes.

Oral herpes spreads like wild fire. Never kiss a person who has cold sores, do not let them touch your face or other parts of your body, while they have cold sores. Do not share cups or glasses with them, unless you have cleaned the glass or cup first before you drink from it.

However a person who´s oral herpes is in dormant, no visible signs is as safe to be around as the next person. Herpes is dormant is in other words very harmless.

Signs of a herpes out break is: red skin on the lip area, blisters, scabs. Is very contagious.

Signs of herpes in dormant: Healthy skin. Totally harmless. Non contagious.

Having oral herpes does not mean that you are a whore or anything like that. Kids often get herpes from parents or family members who have a herpes outbreak but have forgotten to wash their hands. People tend to pick in their cold sore (I know I do) and some forget to wash their hands...leading it on to others in that way.

If you think that you have got herpes, then do not panic. Most of us do have herpes! Herpes is just a mild illness which is most of times in dormant. But when having an out break, show consideration: Wash your hands very often, do not kiss or hug anyone, take a break from sex, do not share things with people which have been close to your lips such as forks, spoons, knives, cups, glasses, lip balm etc.

I got herpes when I was 11. My herpes breaks out 1-2 a year (living healthy reduces the number of out breaks)...in all I have to take special precautions for max. 14 days a year. It is a bitch when in out break...but it is not the end of the world :)
It's possible but not likely to pass oral herpes that way.

You would have to take a drink from the same glass with in seconds of some one with a visible cold sore or fever blister taking a sip.

The herpes virus doesn't like to live in fluids or on objects for more then a few seconds.

You're more likely to get it by kissing or being kissed by some one that has a visible cold sore or fever blister.
Oral herpes (what causes cold sores and fever blisters) on the mouth can be passed that way, but there is only a small chance of that happening.

You can get the oral type of herpes (what causes cold sores and fever blisters) through sharing food. For example you would have to take a bit or sip with in seconds after some one with a cold sore doing so. Herpes doesn't last for long periods of time in drinks or in foods. You would be more likely to get it if you kissed some one on the mouth while they had a visible cold sore.

You're not going to get genital herpes from sharing food or drinks.

Yes, cold sores can be spread if you drink after someone who has the HSV-1 (or HSV-2, although HSV-2 is not generally the cause of cold sores). Also, keep in mind that no active signs of an outbreak need be present for someone to leave the virus on the rim of a glass, due to viral shedding.
