A sunburn with severe inflammation or blistering is quite nasty. This is the type of sunburn that brings on a very high chance of skin cancer later in life. It is likely to get really uncomfortable and even hard to move about as the skin goes through its stages of damage and repair. Cool baths, Aveno or similar extremely gentle cleansers, very light skin lotions, plenty of fluids, eat foods with potassium like Oranges, bananas and yams. Absolutely avoid sun exposure for the next several days. Stay cool. No swimming pool as the chlorine will be painful.

Yes you can. Mine are currently like that including my ankles and legs. Ive never gotten burned this bad before and I was only in the sun for a few hours at the ocean. My legs are blood red with a hint of purple tint like they are bruised or something. Its been 4 days and still not much better. They dont burn anymore but more sore and irritated. I would love to know when it will get better. Good luck!

Um. No. not normal... Um. You might have an allergic reaction to a serious sunburn. Rub Aloe on it and if it doesn't get smaller in 3 days see your doctor..
