What is a morphine overdose is treated with?
Narcan/Nalaxone.Morphine Sulfate (MS) is an opioid narcotic agent; Narcan is an narcotic antagonist; it binds to the opioid receptor sites. It works on Morphine/MS-Contin, Fentanyl/Duragesic, Heroin, Tramadol, Codeine, Hydrocodone/Vicodin, Oxycodone/Percocet and several others. This is not a cure, it will reverse the symptoms of an OD [unconsciousness, unresponsiveness, bradypnea (very slow breathing)] and is also used in unwitnessed cardiac arrests (especially the young and elderly).Narcan cannot hurt you and has no pain relief properties or euphoric effects and typically only lasts 70-90 minutes before the OD symptoms return.
