Asthma is a respiratory condition which affects children and adults too, unless managed correctly it can be life threatening.
Not just Yorkies, all dogs shed, so if your child is allergic to dogs then keep him away from ALL dogs. Not just Yorkies, even if they tend to shed a lot too. It all depends on the individual. My children and I have asthma and our Yorkie doesn't bother us at all. I do bathe him every couple days as well as take him to the groomer every other month, just to keep all of our allergies in check (even his!)
