Yes, Salt Water does help... In a way. Salt water cleans and relaxes the pain. If you do this, Make sure you DO NOT SWALLOW the salt water. Just gargle and spit, about as much as it empties a full glass. After you do this, try to either pull the tooth or let it fall out on its own.

Salt water is actually good for the entire mouth. In fact, people are also suggested to use it as a mouthwash as this saline water attack the bacteria responsible for gingivitis (a gum disease), halitosis (Bad Breath) and everything in between (Including tooth decay!).

Also, people with sensitive teeth are advised to do a salt water gargle.

well i think salt is not bad for teeth because if you have a toothache you usually put water in your mouth and salt then gargle !!!!
